>> Why in Japan? Why in 2007?1. Same Condition as the Beijing Olympics At this championships, Olympic events will be swum in Japan which has almost no time difference and a similar climate with Beijing. It is therefore expected that the athletes will be able to adjust their conditions by simulating what the Beijing Olympics would be. In addition, as the championships will be held in the in-door pool which is the same condition as the Beijing Olympics, it will provide the best environment for athletes to compete without being influenced by the weather. 2. The Championships as the Qualifying Meet This meet has been approved by FINA as the qualifying meet for the Swimming Qualifying Times for the Beijing Olympics. With the worldclass athletes getting together to compete, the meet will serve as the best opportunity for the athletes to exceed the Qualifying Times. 3.
